Projects
As a constant fiddler of stuff I can’t help but set myself a few little projects over the course of the year. Past ones have been as diverse as emergency shelters for disaster relief to media centre pc’s working off touch screens before MCE was even floating in the ether!

I work on an ‘Open Engineering’ principle. Not all of this is my own work, I use other peoples clever software or hardware to do things that I want. I can’t take credit for other peoples work, however where something is entirely my own then you are free to develop the idea further. Just let me know what you’ve done and I’ll update the pages.
Faros is a piece of software for beacon monitoring. It automates the process. This project is to take the existing software and to make an remote listening station that can automatically update this website with the latest output from its listening.
This project forms my second aim of ham radio operation, namely to give something back
VHF Propagation
data on pocket PC
This was a precursor to this website. having not made a web site before I decided to look at collecting all the data that I use for VHF propagation prediction assistance and make it pocket pc’able. i.e. to be able to read it through pocket internet explorer. A long term project is to develop an application that goes and gets the information for me but I’ll have to learn about programming first. Don’t hold your breath.
Buggy Box
Something completely different. A challenge from Mrs G7KSE to win a cheque for £1000 by coming up with a bright idea for the baby products industry. The buggy box a protective case for your child push chair when you go on holiday. It simple stops the airlines doing their utmost to destroy your buggy.
